The DeFelsko PosiTector SHD Shore Hardness Durometer is an ideal gage for measuring the indentation hardness of non-metallic materials. The durometer is weatherproof - resistant to dust, water, oil, solvent, and acid. Per international standards, an auto ignore mode disregards hardness readings below 20 and above 90. To conform to national and international standards, the SHD has user-adjustable measurement time with an on-screen countdown. The PosiTector SHD conforms to ASTM D2240, ISO 868/7267/7619, and DIN 53505.
While measuring, the PosiTector SHD continually displays and updates the average, standard deviation, min/max hardness, and the number of readings taken. A HiLo alarm audibly and visibly alerts to indicate user-specified limits have been surpassed. The Hi-RES mode of the durometer increases the displayed resolution to 0.1. For use even in dim environments, the SHD has a high-contrast, backlit display. The gage body comes with choice of Standard or Advanced Model. Standard models can store or download up to 1000 readings per probe and Advanced models can store or download up to 250,000 readings in up to 1,000 batches and sub-batches.
Shore A probes are best suited for applications on soft to hard materials, like soft rubber, elastomers, neoprene, silicone, etc. Shore D probes are ideal for applications on medium to extra-hard materials, like hard rubber, epoxies, hard plastics, PVC, acrylic, etc.
