The Bruker G8 GALILEO ONH high-end analyzer can automatically analyze the precise concentration of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen in solid materials. It has facilities for analyzing all three elements O, N, and H, as a dual analyzer for two elements and as a single-element analyzer.
Inert Gas Fusion (IGF)
The G8 GALILEO ONH uses the inert gas fusion (IGF) process whereby sample material is melted in a graphite crucible at high temperatures.
Gas Fusion Analysis, also known as melt extraction (ME), extracts oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen from a melted sample. The G8 GALILEO can analyze diffusable hydrogen levels in welds per ISO 3690 and AWS4 4.43 and high strength steel when combined with an external, infrared heated furnace.
Thermal Desorption Mass Spectrometry
The G8 GALILEO analyzer can also be connected with a mass spectrometer to improve its detection limit of ultra-low diffusible hydrogen concentrations, especially in high strength steels. This Thermal Desorption Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) technique improves its detection capabilities limit by more than one order of magnitude compared to a TCD.
Clear, Intuitive Software
The G8 GALILEO has a clear user interface designed to facilitate all analysis tasks from a single screen. Workflows like measurement, the input of the analysis parameters, statistical evaluation and calibration are separated into four distinct, intuitive views.
