This NewSonic Rotogravure Hardness Tester is designed to measure the Copper and Chrome hardness of rotogravure cylinders. This UCI hardness method was developed in the 1960s by Krautkramer Branson (now a division of GE Inspection Technologies). Now that GE Krautkramer has discontinued the manufacturing of their portable hardness testers, Berg Engineering has replaced the GE Krautkramer offering with the NewSonic UCI portable hardness tester. This method provides reliable, fast, repeatable, and accurate hardness results. This package can read results in Vickers, HRB, HB, or HRC hardness scales. This method uses a Vickers diamond for hardness testing.
