Immersion Transducers are single element and longitudinal wave transducers used for inspections for element diameters between .25" to 1.0". Immersion Transducers are typically used in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic scanning systems. When using conforming "water path" layer between the probe and the inspected material, scanning parts with irregular or complex geometries is possible. When comparing to contact transducers, immersion transducers conduct superior near-surface resolution. When simply angling the probe or search tube in relation to the part surface, angle beam inspection is possible. When using an acoustically matched lens, spherical (point) or cylindrical (line) focusing can also be accomplished. Focal length must be specified. Immersion Transducers come with a waterproof UHF connector.
