Moisture meters are used to determine the moisture content in materials.  The material a moisture meter can measure depends on the individual meter, but includes wood, concrete, tile, plaster, drywall, roofing, siding, and other materials involved in building industries.  Moisture meters can also measure air humidity and temperature, making them useful for problem areas within a building.

Moisture meters help prevent damaged materials from being used during the construction process and can also identify materials which need to be replaced after building due to molding or rotting.
