Red Dye Penetrant (Type 2)

Type 2 penetrants are visible penetrants which differ from the fluorescent penetrants that make up type 2 because they do not require a darkened area or UV lights to view the inspection. Visible penetrants are not as sensitive as fluorescent penetrants, yet they are also not as likely to be contaminated from cleaners or other fluids.
