Buehler was founded in 1936 by A.I. Buehler, producing the world's first mounting press.  Founded in Chicago, the company later moved to nearby Evanston in 1953 and then to its current location of Lake Bluff, Illinois in 1981.  Buehler was aquired by Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in 2006 and became a part of ITW's Test & Measurement division.  Buehler is a worldwide leader in the production of scientific equipment, with offices in nine countires and distribution in over 100 countries.  Berg Engineering carries Buehler's Wilson hardness solutions including Rockwell, Knoop, Vickers, Brinell, Automated and Universal harness testers in addition hardness testing accessories and test blocks.
