Ultrasonic Wedges

Wedges used with ultrasonic flaw detection transducers are used in NDT inspections for materials ranging from general welds, small objects, thin sections, tubes, pipes, turbines and many others. Wedges allow you to detect internal flaws in test materials by utilizing a specific angle and transducer designed for specific applications. Transducers attach to wedges with screws or screw directly into the wedge to hold them in place for accurate readings. Wedges come in standard or high-temperature options depending on the wedge. High-temperature wedges can withstand temperatures as high as 400°F (200°C). The incident angle on a wedge is determined by the material being tested. Custom wedge angles and curvatures can be special ordered.
